Here are some activities you can do to help your child practice the math he or she is learning at school.
1. Go on a scavenger hunt with your child and look for these shapes around the home: cone, cylinder, sphere, and
cube. Have your child make a shape booklet and draw some of the things you find on the scavenger hunt. Here are
some things you might find:
2. Collect one household item of each of the following shapes: cone, sphere, cube, and cylinder. Place one item at a
time into a brown paper bag. Have your child reach into the bag, feel the item without looking, and name its shape.
